Silver Eagles’ 2021 Black History Contest- Ist Grades through 12th Grade
Making My Life Count
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:16(KJV)
Step 1:
Choose an African American or other person of color from the past or present who is making or has made their life count in science, technology, engineering, math, art, community service, communications (media), government, civil rights, literature, etc.
Step 2:
-Pretend you are the person.
-Dress as though you are the person.
-Pretend you are speaking to children or youth your age.
-Inspire and encourage your audience to make their lives count, too.
-Have your parent video your presentation using landscape setting.
-Your presentation should be 3 minutes or less.

Include the following for scoring:
-Tell who you are and your grade.
-Tell who you are portraying.
-Where and when did the person live?
-How has the person made his/her life count for God and others?
-How can your audience make their lives count, also?
-Be original, creative, and engaging.
Submit all entries by Midnight on February 5 to [email protected]
Cash awards will be given to winners in each of these categories:

Children's Ushers & Greeters

The purpose of this ministry is to offer children the opportunity to serve God and the  Friendship Church congregation at worship services. Our goal is to meet and assist members and friends during the worship experience. 

Praise Dance Ministry

The purpose of this unique ministry is to minister the gospel through various forms of visual interpretation including sign language, step, and mime. 


When we teach children about missions, the impact is far-reaching.  We help change the lives of children far away. We change the lives of the children we are teaching, and we just might change ourselves!
