SERVICE: SUNDAYS AT 8:00AM & 11:30AM

PASTOR'S UPDATE JANUARY 31, 2025

Hello Friendship Family!

I pray that you are doing well and that your week is off to a great start. I want to salute each of your for your perseverance during our 21 day Fast!  It is not important to me WHAT type of fast you observed, what is important is your desire to grow closer to God by whatever means possible for you! So, I salute you in growing closer to God! May I encourage you? Do not stop here. Continue. That was our last sermon point Sunday, God Christ is magnified in our CONTINUATION!

Speaking of Sunday, this past Sunday, we launched our Who Are We? We Are Friendship Church series by looking at Romans 12, where we were reminded of the importance of presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice (consecration), being transformed by the renewing of our minds, and living in genuine love as the body of Christ (congregation). I hope you were encouraged and challenged to live out (continuation) your faith in a way that reflects God’s will and purpose for your life.

This Sunday, we continue our series as we focus on what it means to be a Bible-Based Church! We’ll be in 2 Timothy 3, where we will be reminded of the power, authority, and sufficiency of God’s Word in our lives and in our church. You don’t want to miss this powerful time in God’s Word, so I encourage you to join us and invite someone to come with you!

Now, let’s move to this week’s announcements.
MONTHLY FAMILY PRAYER
Join us for Friendship Family Prayer this TONIGHT, Friday, January 31, at 7:30pm. Our prayer focus for February is “Walking in the Love of God’s Glory.” Let’s gather online as a church family to seek God together and lift up our petitions and prayers before Him.

During Black History Month, we encourage everyone to wear their African prints and apparel each Sunday in February. Each Sunday has a specific/special focus! Also there is a Black History Contest for your young people sponsored by the Silver Eagles. Read below for more information.

SILVER EAGLE'S BLACK HISTORY CONTEST
The Silver Eagles ministry is now launching the annual Black History Contest for all First through 12th Grade students. This year the focus is  "African Americans and Business & Finance." This contest requires students to chose a black person from the past or present who is using or has used his or her special gifts in the ARTS to serve others, and to influence history, our culture, and you. Then you will need to research and make a video presentation. Entries must be submitted by February 16th. For more info, go HERE.

GEORGE LIELE SUNDAY
As we begin Black History Month, one of the most significant figures in the history of Christian missions is a freed Georgia slave named George Liele. Even though William Carey may be called the father of the modern missionary movement, George Liele left America and planted the gospel in Jamaica a full ten years before Carey left England.
Go HERE to learn more about George Liele from the International Mission Board (IMB).
