What’s Up Friendship?

I am excited to reach out to you this week. Excited is one of my two words this week. My two words this week are Excitement and Expectation. I am excited about our LIVE Sunday Worship Services taking place this Sunday, August 2nd! We will have a Drive-In Church Service OUTSIDE. This service will meet the State Guidelines for Houses of Worship. Physically distanced but socially connected. Live music and a message via FM radio 90.5. Remember, please prepare in advance to remain in your car. The service will be about one hour. CLICK HERE to RSVP. Our 9am service is ALREADY full. We have a VERY LIMITED amount of space at our 11:30am service. If you desire to join us, RSVP today. We will celebrate communion together, so as you arrive, you will receive your elements. You do not need to bring your own. If you have children, you will receive activities upon arrival for them. Did I say I was EXCITED about this service? I am also EXPECTANT. I am expecting God to meet us in this service in a very real way. I pray you are EXPECTING God as well. We plan to have an outdoor drive-in service, once a month on First Sundays, weather permitting.

For those who are unable to join us on Sunday, please note that the services will stream LIVE at 9am and 11:30am. Remember, that’s 9am and 11:30am. Please pass this information on. We do not want anyone to miss it or to be confused. There will NOT be an 8am STREAM. The phone line will be open for listening to the services for those who cannot view the service via a computer or device. Additionally, we will STILL have EX Hour at 10:15am for both youth and adults. Please join our Ex Hour teachers for an exciting time in God’s Word. So, I EXPECT to see you Sunday, either LIVE in person or on our LIVE stream! Also, since we are meeting LIVE at the church, there will be NO At the Door with the Curry’s this Sunday! We will be back next Sunday!

Please join me TONIGHT, July 31st, for our MONTHLY FAMILY PRAYER SERVICE at 7:30pm via Google Meet! We do this once a month on the Friday before the First Sunday! This is a Virtual Experience. We utilize our regular prayer line and invite you to join us and participate. To connect with our prayer service TONIGHT, please follow this link HERE or dial in at +1 (413) 418-4274 and use the PIN 287683504#.

SABBATH REST is CANCELLED this year! We will continue to remain connected through August! All Bible Studies and Ministry opportunities will continue! Please remain connected and remain engaged!

Ladies, if you participated in the Desperate for Jesus Women’s conference hosted by Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship last weekend, we would like to know.  Please look forward to an email from our Women’s Ministry and respond accordingly so we can track this information!

Beloved, as I watched the funeral service for United States Congressman John Lewis yesterday, I was invigorated and inspired anew by his life and his story. We must never forget that we have a civic responsibility as believers and citizens in these United States of America to get into GOOD TROUBLE. We have a responsibility, and an obligation, to make a difference by utilizing our right to VOTE. This year is a significant election year. Congressman John Lewis’ legacy is one whereby he worked to ensure that individuals could have the right and freedom to vote. Please plan to VOTE. If you do not remember if you’re registered to vote or if you need to check what name you’re registered under or what political party you’re registered with, you can check your registration status online at

Also, if you have not already done so, please complete your 2020 Census information. Census results will inform how hundreds of billions of dollars are allocated to our communities in areas such as housing, food assistance, and healthcare. Remember, the U.S. Constitution mandates that a census of the population be conducted every ten years. Census statistics are used to determine the number of seats each state holds in the U.S. House of Representatives and inform how state, local, and federal lawmakers will allocate billions of dollars in federal funds to local communities every year for the next ten years. It has never been easier to respond on your own, whether online, over the phone, or by mail—all without having to meet a census taker. Let’s do our part.

I continue to charge this WORSHIP COMMUNITY to PRAY, not PANIC, take PRECAUTIONS, and be PATIENT. 😊 Please practice physical distancing and wear your mask and stay safe. Wear a mask, wash your hands, and watch your distance.

Pray for us as a church that the saints do not grow weary. Pray for me as a leader that I remain faithful. Pray for our national leaders and the upcoming election, which is just under 100 days away. Pray that the Gospel continues to be spread and bring peace and comfort to those in need.  Remember, we are STILL the CHURCH even though we meet virtually, so we MUST PRAY.

Serving you gratefully,
Rev. Kenneth C. Curry, Jr.
