SERVICE: SUNDAYS AT 8:00AM & 11:30AM

PASTOR'S UPDATE MAY 1, 2026

Good day, Friendship family.

I greet you in the strong and saving name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

We are now entering the month of May. Today is the first day of the fifth month of the year, and five is the number of grace. My prayer for each of you this month is that you would experience God’s grace throughout the entire month.

Grace in your life. Grace in your home. Grace in your decisions. Grace in every area of your journey.

May is also a special month for us here at Friendship. This is the month we celebrate our church anniversary, our church birthday. We thank God that what began with just 22 members has now grown to over 2,200.

And by the grace of God, we are still here. Still doing ministry, still making a difference, and still advancing and expanding for God’s glory alone.

And as we move toward the end of the month, we will celebrate Men’s Day, honoring the impact and influence of the men of Friendship and the role they play in strengthening our church and our community.

Here are this week's announcements:
MONTHLY FAMILY PRAYER SERVICE - VIRTUAL
Tonight, Friday, May 1 AT 7:30 PM, we will have our monthly Family Prayer gathering. Our prayer focus for this month is Walking in God’s Faithfulness. I hope you will join us. This month it will take place online using our regular prayer link.  At 7:30 PM, you can join by tapping HERE.

KINGDOM WIVES
Kingdom Wives, we want to invite all wives and women engaged to be married to join us for our Kingdom Wives class. This group meets on the first and third Saturdays of each month, which means our next gatherings will be on Saturday, May 2 and Saturday, May 16 at 9:00 AM. All sessions are held online for your convenience. Their current theme is Lead with Love. In a world where relationships can be stretched and strained, this study calls us back to God’s design for covenant love, a love that strengthens, sustains, and endures. Ladies, if you desire to grow in your faith, deepen your relationships, and gain practical biblical wisdom for real life, this class is for you. They would love to have you join them. Tap on the picture above or go HERE for more info.
SUNDAY SERVICE
This Sunday is the First Sunday, which means we will come together to celebrate the Lord’s Table. If you are unable to join us in person, check out the communion instructions so you can observe communion virtually HERE.

And remember: Communion is for believers. If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus Christ for salvation, we ask that you refrain from partaking, this is a biblical instruction.
This Sunday, we also begin a brand-new preaching series entitled Why Do We Sing? This series will walk us through some favorite hymns of the church, songs that have shaped our faith, strengthened believers, and carried the church through every season.

These hymns are not just songs; they are theology. They are testimony. They remind us who God is and why He is worthy of our praise. I am excited about what God is going to do through this series.

Also, this Sunday, you will receive a printed bulletin, and I want to remind you that we also provide a virtual bulletin each week in the church app. Please take advantage of that resource to stay informed and connected.

MINISTER'S & TEACHER'S CONFERENCE
On Saturday, May 30, from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM, we will host our Ministers and Teachers Conference. This is for all Friendship ministers and teachers.
"Intentional Discipleship: Living It, Leading It" is the powerful theme of this year's Ministers & Teachers Conference, anchored in Matthew 28:19-20 and 2 Timothy 2:2.

This conference is designed to equip and encourage those who preach, teach, and lead in ministry to move beyond simply sharing information to cultivating transformation. Together, we will explore what it truly means to live as disciples of Christ and to intentionally lead others in that same journey.

Through dynamic teaching, practical breakout sessions, and meaningful fellowship, participants will gain tools to strengthen their personal walk with Christ and effectively disciple those they serve.

It will be a day full of learning, inspiration, and enrichment...join us!  Tap the picture to register, or go HERE.
ANNUAL MEN'S DAY
On Sunday, May 31, we will celebrate Men’s Day here at Friendship. This is a special day when we honor and highlight the impact men have in our church and community. The men of Friendship will provide leadership throughout the service, and I am asking every brother to plan to participate and be present.

We are also blessed to have Superintendent Phillip White of Regenerated Church as our guest preacher. He is a powerful and anointed voice, and I know he will bring a word that will challenge and encourage us. Our Men’s Choir, The Wrecking Crew, will lead us in song, and it is going to be a strong day of worship. Brothers, I need you in the house. Let’s show up, stand together, and lead well.
Also, Sunday, May 31, immediately following the 11:30 service from 1:30 to 2:30 PM, our Children and Youth Ministry will host a Parent Meeting. This will be an opportunity to hear the vision, learn what is coming next, and understand how we are preparing to move forward, especially given our anticipation regarding the New Children’s Building. Parents, your presence is important.
CHRIST CHILDREN'S CENTER
As you know, we are awaiting our final permit to begin the work to create the Christ Children's Center.. We are asking you to partner with us as we build Christ’s Children’s Center. This will be a dedicated, safe, and joy-filled space where our children can learn, worship, and grow. The children’s building and the adjoining playground will allow us to offer age-appropriate teaching, meaningful activities, and an engaging space designed just for them. Your giving helps us build for the next generation.

General Church things to remember:

FAITHFUL GIVING
We want to say thank you for your giving and partnership.  YOUR GIVING MATTERS! Your faithful giving allows us to increasingly do the work of ministry for our members AND to everyone the Lord sends to us and sends us to.  Remember the Word of God:

"The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." -- 2 Corinthians 9: 6-7 ESV

and

Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need." -- Malachi 3:10 ESV
