Hours: Monday-Friday 11:00am-8:00 pm (Flexible 40 hours based on church and ministry activities)
GENERAL SUMMARY: The role of the Sr. Administrative Logistics Assistant is to drive the collective effectiveness of the church and numerous ministries through organizing information, managing church logistics, communicating information relating to the church calendar, and building usage. In addition, this position works toward keeping the day-to-day administrative operations at Friendship Baptist Church (FBC) organized and clear.
I. SPECIFIC DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Administrative Responsibilities-The Sr. Administrative Logistics Assistant is responsible for managing the church front office and providing administrative support to the Executive Director of Business Affairs, Church staff, Ministry Directors, and leaders to ensure the church runs smoothly. The Sr. Administrative Logistics Assistant plays a vital role in weekly staff meetings and helps communicate information on the church bulletins, website, church app, announcements, and other relevant information outlets. This work would include:

  • Assisting with facilitating church communication networks: phones, bulletins, weekly and other church communication 
  • Assisting with a policy enforcement of building use through planning center, and mailboxes
  • Managing the flow of office supplies related to copying, printing, and church communication use and resources for staff projects and events/activities
  • Maintains and communicates the master Church calendar working along with the Membership Services Administrator

  • Administration and other Duties-Demonstrates commitment to the church, skills, and knowledge of service to the Church membership and leadership by:

  • Ensuring all member information is correct in the Shelby System database in coordination with Membership Services Administrator
  • Preparing layout and editing of the weekly bulletin in collaboration with the Director of Worship Strategy and Engagement; announcing church events and Sunday communications materials
  • Ensuring all meetings are scheduled and entered in planning center
  • Taking minutes of weekly staff meetings and providing copies to all staff members
  • Assisting other staff members/ministries with projects and church events as needed or directed
  • Taking monthly inventory of office supplies and placing orders as needed or directed by the Executive Director of Business Affairs
  • Performing other tasks as assigned or directed
  • Attends all leadership and stewardship meetings
  • Assisting with coordination of volunteers for data entry of ministries information (i.e., Attendance, membership records, etc.), in collaboration with the Membership Services Administrator

III. QUALIFICATIONS
The qualifications listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and abilities of the Sr. Administrative Logistics Assistant. Further, qualified individuals must be a member of Friendship Baptist Church or willing to become a member.
IV. REQUIRED EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE
  • High School graduate, Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) Business Administration, or it’s equivalent from an accredited institution 
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of office experience in the business or non-profit sector    
  • instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
V. TECHNICAL/COMPUTER SKILLS
  • COMMUNICATION -Demonstrate excellence in written and verbal, and interpersonal communications. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret church documents. Has the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before church members, visitors, vendors, and the general public
  • LANGUAGE ABILITY -Ability to read, analyze, and interpret church documents. Ability to speak effectively before church members, visitors, vendors, and the general public
  • MATH ABILITY-Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • REASONING-Solves practical problems and deals with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Access, Database systems, Internet Software, and Design Software
  • Regularly required to stand; walk. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds – and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
